Payment and Insurance

Individual Session: Our initial session will be $250 and sessions there after are $200 for a 5o minute, weekly session (or as frequently as clinically appropriate)

Insurance:

I currently accept CareFirst  and Blue Cross BlueShield. Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, it is possible for services to be covered in full or in part. Please contact your provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services. I’d recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:

  • Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
  • Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?
  • Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
  • Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?
  • If you have insurance other than Carefirst or Bluecross BlueShield and you would like to use it you need to ask if you have out of network benefits and if you have an out of network deductible.

If I do not accept your insurance, I do provide a superbill on a monthly basis which you can submit to your insurance company for out-of-network coverage. It will be your responsibility to communicate with your insurance company regarding your coverage and possible reimbursements prior to committing to an appointment. It is also important to note that insurance companies have various rules regarding therapy which can impact the amount of sessions they will cover, the type of diagnoses that can be treated, and requires a diagnosis to be in your medical record. There can be more flexibility when insurance companies are not involved and I understand the need to use them as well.
